This personal project has been an exciting journey as I challenged myself to take the creation of next-gen game characters to the next level. The inspiration behind this work came from the character of Jyn Erso in Star Wars: Rogue One. Her depth, backstory, and the way she was portrayed resonated with me, motivating me to embark on this creative project.
Most of the work was done using a combination of Marvelous Designer, ZBrush, Maya, and Substance Painter. I began with Marvelous Designer to block out basic yet believable clothing. ZBrush was then used to sculpt and refine the finer details. For the hair, I utilized Maya’s GS Curves Tools, a highly effective tool for creating realistic hair cards.
When it came to texturing, I turned to Substance Painter, which allowed me to create PBR textures quickly and efficiently, adding depth and realism to the model.
